Happy New Year from all of us at Dynamicmotif!
We kicked off 2026 in style with our Winter Recital, held at Chilwell Arts Theatre over one magical weekend. While the lead-up to the show was touch-and-go due to Storm Goretti, we were lucky that all the snow and ice had cleared in time, and the recital went ahead as planned.
A huge thank you to the three wonderful audiences who joined us across the weekend. Over 300 pupils took part, showcasing not only their IDTA examination work, but also the progress of our classes that don t sit exams, giving a fantastic insight into the hard work and creativity from our first term of the academic year.
We were especially proud of our pre-graduate students, who will be flying the Dynamicmotif nest in July 2026. They opened all three performances with their piece, Go Steady, a heartfelt reflection on what Dynamicmotif has meant to them over the years. Many of these pupils have been with us since we founded the academy almost 12 years ago, or for nearly 10 years it was a truly special moment celebrating their journey.
Festive Fun
Before the new year, we had a wonderful festive season at Dynamicmotif. Pupils enjoyed fun, themed classes and visits from Santa Claus, who handed out selection boxes to all the children. Our youngest dancers in the Butterfly and Dragonfly ballet classes also received the traditional Nutcracker book, continuing our introduction of this magical ballet to our youngest performers.
Supporting Children in Need
In November 2025, Dynamicmotif proudly supported Children in Need, donating £100 to the national charity. Pupils had fun attending classes in their pyjamas on Friday 14 November, and for every pupil who joined in, we pledged £1. This was a joyful and meaningful way to combine learning and fun while making a difference.
Across our three Friday branches in West Hallam, Castle Donington, and Risley, we now have over 100 pupils attending our classes, and it s incredible to see their progress, energy, and enthusiasm continue to grow.
We’d like to thank everyone who has been part of our winter term our pupils, families, teachers, and audiences. Your support makes Dynamicmotif the vibrant and nurturing community that it is, and we can t wait to see what the rest of 2026 holds!
