Autumn Newsletter

Dear Dynamicmotif families,

First and foremost, I’d like to say a huge thank you to all our parents and guardians for helping make this first half term a smooth and seamless transition back into the academic year here at Dynamicmotif. Your support and collaboration have allowed us to provide the highest quality of dance and performing arts education to all our pupils. We’re excited to share some key updates and upcoming events as we move forward into the term.

New Administrative and Finance System: DanceBiz

One of the main updates this academic year has been the introduction of the DanceBiz system as our new administration and finance platform. This system centralises all our communications and processes, ensuring a streamlined and efficient experience for both our staff and families.

Customer Portal

We encourage all parents to utilise the DanceBiz customer portal, which allows you to view and verify your personal information on our records. If anything needs updating, please do let us know through the portal. This feature supports accuracy and keeps you up-to-date with all essential school information.

Finance and Invoicing

All invoicing for the first two half terms has been managed through DanceBiz, providing itemised invoices for transparency. This has given you a clearer, comprehensive view of your charges, helping to improve our customer service by making our fees and services more transparent. We look forward to expanding our use of this system to enhance customer interactions further.

Payment Changes from 1st January

Just a reminder that from 1st January, we will only be accepting payments via our secure portal for all fees. This decision has not been taken lightly, but with the increasing costs from our financial providers, the cost of accepting BACS payments and payments via the website has led us to fully integrate everything into one system to ensure it remains financially viable. Many families have already used the portal to pay invoices, and we encourage everyone to take advantage of its convenience. Paying through the portal is quick, easy, and provides an instant update on the customer portal to confirm your payment. If you have any concerns about this transition, please don’t hesitate to reach out to me.

Upcoming Exams and Recitals

As we approach the festive season, we are preparing for our exam and recital sessions, scheduled for the new year. We will be using DanceBiz to manage the invoicing and administration of exam-based classes, so you can expect all information and associated fees to be communicated through the system. Recital tickets will once again be available via TicketSource, which has successfully supported our last three shows. We look forward to welcoming you to these exciting events!

Christmas Party and Festive Fun

In addition, we’re thrilled to announce our annual Christmas Party, which will take place just before the Christmas break. Santa may even make a special appearance at some of our classes! We hope to see all our students join in the festivities as we celebrate together.

Staff Appreciation and New Team Member

Finally, I’d like to extend my gratitude to the entire Dynamicmotif team—Miss Fesa, Miss Danielle, Miss Lauren, and Miss Faye—for their dedication this half term in ensuring a high standard of education for our pupils. A special thank you goes to Miss Faye for her recent cover at our Risley branch. We hope to welcome her back whenever needed.

We’re also excited to introduce Miss Phoebe Saunders, who will be joining us as the new lead for the Risley classes. As a highly talented and dedicated ballet instructor, we can’t wait for you to experience her expertise and passion in the coming weeks.

Thank you as well to our administration manager, Les Curzon, who has worked tirelessly alongside myself and Miss Jackie to ensure a smooth implementation of the DanceBiz system. Les has been instrumental in maintaining the high standards of customer service that Dynamicmotif strives to uphold, and we are continuously working behind the scenes to enhance your experience.

We hope you all enjoy a wonderful second half term with us! As always, if you have any feedback or suggestions, please don’t hesitate to reach out to me at [email protected]. I look forward to seeing you at our upcoming exams and recitals.

Warm regards,

Why Does my Dynamicmotif Teacher Insist on a Hair Bun for Dance class?

Firstly a huge welcome to all new pupils and parents joining Dynamicmotif Dance & Performing Arts Academy this September and welcome back to our wonderful existing loyal Dynamicmotif family!

With the new school term fully starting this week we wanted to share with you our expectations regarding pupils hair when attending our Ballet, Contemporary and Acrobatic Arts classes.

You might be wondering why we’re so particular about having your child’s hair in a bun for dance classes. Well, there are a few important reasons that go beyond just looking neat!

1. When You Look Professional, You Feel Professional!

The way you present yourself has a huge impact on your mindset. Having your hair in a neat bun helps you feel ‘put together’ and ready to perform. It’s a small step that builds confidence and focus.

2. Safety First – Especially for Contact Work and Acro

Loose hair can be a real safety hazard, especially during contact work in Contemporary Dance or Acro. Imagine someone accidentally stepping on your ponytail during floor work or a lift—that could lead to injury, or at the very least, a painful clump of hair being pulled out. Keeping your hair securely pinned up ensures everyone stays safe.

3. Discipline is Key in Dance

Dance is all about discipline, and maintaining a proper bun is part of that discipline. It sets a standard of professionalism and respect for the art form. Knowing that you must always wear your hair in a bun helps build consistency and focus, both on and off the dance floor.

4. It’s Less Distracting for You and Your Audience

There’s nothing more distracting than hair flying around during a performance. Not only is it difficult for your audience to focus on your beautiful movements, but it’s also a challenge for you as a dancer! Loose hair whipping around can interfere with your concentration and even get in your eyes. Keep it simple, and keep it pinned up.

5. Struggling with the Bun? We’ve Got You Covered!

We know that Saturday mornings can be hectic, and sometimes you don’t have time to get your hair into a perfect bun before class, especially when you’re rushing from school. Don’t worry! Bring your hair grips and nets, and either I or one of our assistants will be happy to help you get it into place.

So, next time you’re getting ready for class, an exam or our Recital/Showcase remember that a simple bun can make all the difference—for your safety, focus, and performance. Let’s keep it professional, polished, and safe the Dynamicmotif way!!

A Summer to Remember:
Our Legends and Icons Tenth Anniversary Summer Showcase

Dear Dynamicmotif Family,

What an incredible summer we’ve had at Dynamicmotif Dance and Performing Arts Academy! We are thrilled to share the success of our latest summer showcase, Legends and Icons, which took place over two unforgettable weekends. With six performances, this showcase was a true celebration of some of the greatest figures in music and movies, bringing together our talented dancers, performers, and the community in a spectacular display of creativity and passion.

Celebrating Legends and Icons

Our Legends and Icons theme was an homage to the timeless artists and performers who have left an indelible mark on the world. From the soulful melodies of Whitney Houston to the electrifying moves of Michael Jackson, our students brought these legends to life on stage with performances that were as dynamic as they were heartfelt. We also paid tribute to musical greats like Celine Dion, Robbie Williams, Kylie Minogue, Prince and rock icons like Queen and The Beatles. And who could forget the unforgettable energy of Tina Turner? Each performance was a testament to the enduring legacy of these icons and the impact they’ve had on generations of music and dance lovers.

Six Shows, One Incredible Experience!

Over two weekends, our academy was abuzz with excitement as our dancers, actors and singers took to the stage in six remarkable shows. Each performance was filled with dazzling choreography, stunning costumes, and the kind of energy that only comes from months of hard work and dedication. Our students truly shone, delivering performances that not only entertained but also paid deep respect to the legends they were honoring. We were overjoyed to see so many friends, family members, and supporters in the audience, all of whom contributed to the electric atmosphere that made these shows so special.

A Heartfelt Thank You

We want to extend our deepest thanks to everyone who made the Legends and Icons showcase possible. To our students, your talent, dedication, and passion are the heart of this academy, and we couldn’t be prouder of what you’ve accomplished. To our teachers and staff, your guidance and creativity were key to bringing this vision to life. And to our supportive community—thank you for cheering us on every step of the way. Your presence in the audience meant the world to us, and we hope you enjoyed the show as much as we enjoyed putting it together.

Looking Ahead

As we look to the future, we’re already planning our next big showcase and can’t wait to share what we have in store. Stay tuned for more information on upcoming classes, workshops, and performances as we continue to celebrate our tenth anniversary of inspiring our Dynamicmotif community, together we’ll keep creating magic on stage!

Thank you for being a part of the Dynamicmotif family. We look forward to welcoming you all back next month for the start of another exciting school year!
